North Olympic Peninsula Recompete Coalition
The scope of the Recompete grant is a huge undertaking: about $35 million over five years to revitalize the economy of the region and connect more individuals to good, local jobs. This goal can only be achieved through cross-sector collaboration from numerous partners in the community.
The work is a combined effort from numerous local entities including counties, municipalities, tribes, community-based organizations, non-profits, educational institutions, ports, economic development agencies, and more.
Clallam County is coordinating the overall Recompete efforts, but the service region is both Clallam and Jefferson counties. Six main project leads are implementing grant funds through programs in barrier removal, job skills training, job creation & industry revitalization, and investing in remote & rural regions. Additional subawards are implementing programs to equip individuals with the skills and support needed to meet their employment goals.
The result of this collaborative, cross-region, cross-sector effort will not only connect people with good jobs today but will also help our legacy industries evolve and stay resilient for future generations of Clallam and Jefferson County residents.
Project Leads
Project leads are funded through the EDA for new or expanded programs that provide job skills training for in-demand careers, job creation projects, and wraparound services that remove barriers to employment (such as childcare and transportation).
